Welcome to Thrumpton Cricket Club

Thrumpton Cricket Club, founded more than 130 years ago, is one of the oldest and most highly regarded clubs in Nottinghamshire. Its setting is unparalleled in the beautiful grounds of the Thrumpton Hall estate, yet is just 15 minutes from the centre of Nottingham.  TV enthusiasts may remember the first series of the television serial “Outside Edge” which was filmed at the ground.

The club always welcomes new players who wish to play league or friendly cricket on Saturdays and Sundays. There are three Saturday teams who play in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League, one of the largest in the country, and there is friendly cricket on a Sunday. The club also has an annual tour in July to different parts of England. Areas visited in recent years include Northumberland, Cumbria and Hampshire.

Qualified coaches are on hand to encourage the thriving Kwik Cricket and Youth sections which play an important role in the club’s policy of encouraging future cricketers.

In addition the club has licensed bar facilities and the pavilion which was built in 1998 has many amenities for social activities throughout the year.

Thrumpton welcomes enquiries and visits from potential new members and more information may be obtained from Dave Gant on 07974 707201 or Paul Burns on 0115 984 4966.
