We are delighted to be supporting Runs 4 Research and urge players as many players as possible to sign up!
Jake Burton, from Long Sutton Cricket Club, lost his Grandad at the back end of 2020, having suffered with Dementia for the last 5 years of his life.
Some of his fondest memories with his Grandad were associated with their love of cricket. Therefore cricket became the ideal starting place for a fundraising idea.
After much thought Runs 4 Research was created. A donation that builds up over the season with the donation at the end.
It's just 5p per run and 50p per wicket, meaning that by September a nice donation will have been built but also not so significant that players feel unduly out of pocket.
We think this is a fantastic fundraising idea for Alzheimer’s/Dementia research aimed at club cricketers and look forward to seeing all our Badgers players signing up during the 2024 season!
The 2023 Season saw 13 players sign up and the Badgers Raise £208.20 for Runs for Research. Here's the final standings from last season:
1 | Dan Brown | £30.50 |
2 | Adam James | £29.00 |
