We are delighted to announce that we will be starting up the Thrumpton 3rd XI again for the 2019 season.

Following the results of the club survey and after much consideration we have decided the time is right to re-launch the Thrumpton 3rd Team.

The team will play in the South Notts Development League, playing 32 over matches, predominantly on Saturday afternoons, with home game being played at East Leake Cricket Club.

Our Development Team is to be made up of players aged between 13 and 18 with the odd senior player or even parent taking to the field. Ladies who would also like to play cricket are also invited to take part.

The aim of the team will be to provide our Juniors with their first step into the world of Senior League Cricket.

The team will line up in the Development Division against Belvoir 4ths, Coddington & Winthorpe, Flintham 2nds, Grantham, Keyworth 4ths, Long Eaton 3rds, Notts & Arnold 5ths and Notts Unity 3rds.

The side will be managed by club Chairman Mark Priestley who said

“It is fantastic news that we will be resurrecting the 3rd XI.

When we originally set up our 3rds many years ago it was very much about getting our junior playing into senior cricket.

With the structure of the new South Notts Development League following that exact ethos it made our decision to bring the team back very easy.

With only a handful of Juniors currently involved in Senior cricket this is the perfect chance for us to bring on our youngsters in a perfect environment.

I would like to thank East Leake CC for agreeing to hire their ground to us and we look forward to playing there next season”

If anyone would like to be involved with the Development Team as either Tea Lady, Scorer or Umpire please get in touch with Mark Priestley as we would be delighted to have your help, there are even Umpire and Scorers coarses currently available.
