After the disappointment of the Thrumpton KWIKs host tournament being cancelled, the Mini Badgers resumed their Leics & Rutland League campaign with a trip to Hathern.

The first game saw Thrumpton take on a very young Long Whatton team.

Long Whatton batted first and post 195 from their 8 overs. In reply the stronger batting line up of Thrumpton proved too strong and despite losing a couple of wickets in the penultimate over, they finished on 237, a victory of 42 runs.

Next up was Shepshed who had 10 players, so after borrowing a couple of players from Hathern and winning the toss, Thrumpton chose to field first.

Shepshed batted very well but a couple of wickets from the 7th over and 2 more in the 10th over, saw Shepshed finish on 215.

That total could have proved testing but some fantastic batting from all the pairs saw Thrumpton post 278 in reply, a victory of 63 runs this time.

It was another great week for the KWIKs who have now won 10 out of 10 this season.

We only have two more match days left, we travel to Shepshed on 25 July before finishing at Kegworth on 8 August.
