All Round Performance From U13s

Thrumpton's Under 13s completed the first part of their season on Sunday morning at the Badger Set against Egerton Park.

Once again skipper Jack T lost the toss and was put into bat.

Max Ben (8) and Dan O (11) opened the innings and got it off to a slow but steady start.

Jack came in himself at 3 and was soon retired on 29. Lewis W also retired on 27, with Matt N (19) and Jacob T (9) also chipping in the Under 13s were on their way to a good target.

Lower order wickets started to fall and with the fall of the 8th wicket Jack returned to the middle and promptly scored 8 from the last 2 balls including a 6 caught by the 1st team skipper on the boundary, to see the innings finish on 139 for 8 from their 20 overs with Jack 37 not out.

After a quick turnaround the Badgers took to the field confident of defending the score.

All the bowlers bowled very well and the fielding & wicketkeeping was superb, runs were very hard to come by for Egerton Park.

Following last weeks hat trick from Ben G, Will H's mum must have been nervous as he took 2 in 2 balls but the batsman made sure there was no chance on a wicket.

William C-O picked up the final wick with a superb catch from Matt N at slip. A great way to finish the game!

In the end Egerton Park were all out for 74, giving the badgers a 65 run victory.

Despite the last two defeats the improvement in the players has been fantastic and a platform has now been build for the rest of the season.

Hopefully we should have the fixtures for the 2nd half of the season very shortly and as soon as we do have them I will of course let everyone know.
