U13's Top Order Dominates Barkby

After having to concede the league fixture between the 2 sides we were delighted to welcome Barkby United to the badger set last night for a friendly fixture.

The Badgers handed junior debuts to both Charlie Eggleston and Harry James.

Batting first Jacob Taylor, skipper Matt North and Lewis Wales all batted superbly with all three retiring on 28, 25 and 25 respectively.

After such a great start it was left to the rest of the side to push the score on which they all did chipping in together for the Badgers to finish on 134 for 5 from their 20 overs.

In reply Barkby got off to a great start as they attacked the Thrumpton bowlers. Wickets though started to come and the boundaries dried up with some superb fielding.

In reply Barkby finished on 122 for 6 from their 20 overs with Sam Towers the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wickets for just 3 runs in 2 overs.

Both debutants, Harry and Charlie, took fantastic catches on their debuts.

Here's hoping the Badgers can continue their form into this weekends league game.
