Sunday morning saw another superb performance from the Badger Under 13's.

This weeks opposition saw the all girl team of Cropston CC arrive at the badger set for their Leics & Rutland League encounter.

Unfortunately the Cropston team had a couple of late drop outs and could only field 9 players.

Thrumpton elected to bat first with Lewis Wales and skipper Matt North opening the innings with some fantastic shots and picking off plenty of singles.

The pair put on 43 until Lewis was finally out, clean bowled for 20.

Shortly after the skipper Matt retired on 25, this sent Finn Manners out to bat with Jacob Taylor.

Unfortunately Finn was out for 0 though as he gave a simple catch to the Cropston fielder.

Ben Gill now joined Jacob Taylor in the middle and the pair developed a great little partnership with Jacob doing most of the scoring and soon retiring on 25.

Blaine Grewcock now joined Ben in the middle and the pair batted through to close the badgers innings on 147 for 2 in 20 overs, our highest total of the season.

Ben finished on 23 not out and Blaine on 19 not out.

After a quick turnaround Thrumpton took to the field confident of victory.

Zoe Howick opened the bowling and quickly got the first breakthrough as she clean bowled the cropston opener for just 1.

With Lewis Wales removing the other opener for for just 6. Thrumpton were well on top at 23 for 2.

A good partnership then formed for Cropston until Finn Manners came on to pick up another wicket with the score on 57.

Shortly after this the other batsman retired on 25, although she would come back in at the end.

With the score on 93 a catch behind by George Mayell off the bowling off Jacob Taylor started a flurry of wickets.

Just 1 run was added before skipper Matt North picked up a 2 wickets, with a run out by Joe Bailey sandwiched between to make it 94 for 6.

Matt would then pick up another with score on 94. This wicket brought in the retired batsman who looked to push the score on past 100.

They managed to add ten runs until another run out by Joe Bailey saw Cropston all out on the last ball for a total of 104.

A 43 run victory for the Badgers who once again looked very confident with the bat.
