Lewis Wales shone in the U15's Cup Match at Rothley Park last Wednesday.
When the team turned up a player short, captain Jack Towers relinquished the gloves behind the stumps to bowl. Lewis took over behind the stumps and performed well.
Lewis and Jack opened the batting, and both started off well. Jack was bowled for 30 but Lewis continued to punish the bowling and was able to reach his 1st 50 for the club. He was forced to retire not out on 50 but the damage was already done. Dan Oakley and Jack Sisson saw Thrumpton home.
