It was a fine Monday morning with Clifton batting first scoring a total of 88, their highest scorer being Ewan Horrey 31 Not Out.
Jack Towers gave 10 Thrumpton players a bowl, the best figures being recorded by Joel Bembridge and Joe Bailey. Both took one wicket in their respective two over spells at a cost of 4 runs.
At the interval it was decided between the team managers should Thrumpton reach Clifton's score within the 20 overs to carry on playing until all 20 overs had been bowled or all Thrumpton players were out.
Thrumpton opened their batting with Captain Jack Towers and Zoe Howick, unfortunately Zoe only surviving one ball.
Thrumpton reached the winning score with 8 overs remaining and then continued until all 20 overs had been completed with Thrumpton losing a total of 4 wickets..
Thrumpton's batting performances came from Matt North scoring 50 before retiring followed Lewis Wales scoring a belligerent 41 before being caught and Finn Manners 15 not out.
Following on from the game Clifton's manager has since said how much they enjoyed the game and hope we will be able to repeat the fixture next season.
Also a big thank you for Clifton for providing us with a choice of purchasing either burgers, sausages or a bacon butty both during and after the game.
