A general meeting was held in the school room on Wednesday 26th April in the presence of 24 members. Mr Seymour was elected Chairman of the meeting which opened with the reading of the last general meeting by the Secretary.

These together with the accounts showed a balance in hand of 22 pounds 13 shillings and 1 and a half pence, a loss of 22 pounds and 6 shillings. This big loss was due to the very heavy expenses and the poor income.

The averages were then read. Mr A Butler topped the batting, Mr J Stokes the bowling and Mr S Shaw the catches.

The club played 26 matches, Won 14, Lost 11 and drew 1.

The officials for 1959 were then elected, after again being elected Captain for the coming season, Mr E Chettle gave up the post to Mr R Priestley. Four more names were added to the committee, Mr R Chettle Mr G Shaw Mr J Taylor and Mr M Smith.

Owing to several Vice Presidents not paying their subscriptions Mr R Horobin offered to type out letters asking each one of them to continue paying them. It was also proposed at the meeting that a yearly subscription should be paid instead of the weekly match fee which was now in progress. This was finally left to be discussed during the season..

The meeting ended with a vote of confidence being passed to the chairman Mr Seymour.
