Matters Arising

Match ball sponsorship letters have not been sent out as yet due to the Secretary having problems with his computer, but he will endeavour to resolve this matter as soon as possible now he has got his computer back up and running.

The Race Night has been amended from Friday 7th September to now take place on Friday 14th September at the same venue.

Ray Smithson has been in talks with Tim Davidson and Mr Davidson has agreed to sponsor the Club this season.

The Club Cashback is working well with money coming into the Club on a regular basis.

Stuart Basford mentioned that it was too early to report that the Football Pontoon had been suspended.

Groundwork:

The square has been cut and rolled for the first time this season.

All mowers and rollers work.

Steve Weightman has ordered some fertiliser.

Stuart Basford to speak to brewery about empty barrels and pumps in scorebox.

Pavilion Matters:

All the notice boards in the pavilion have been stripped down for reorganisation and new material to be added.

Paul Burns has said that the water for the pavilion is to be turned on in mid March.

Playing Matters:

The 1st XI umpiring issue is still to be resolved. John Richardson has said he will stand as umpire if Steven Pick is not available. Steven Pick has stated that he will make a decision after the outcome of his assessment of his ankle operation on Friday 9th March.

This seasons winter nets start on Monday 5th March at Trent Bridge at 9pm.

The League collection night takes place on Tuesday 27th March at The Willow Tree Public House – Steven Pick has volunteered to collect all equipment. It has been requested that we order 2 new scorebooks for 2nd XI and Sunday XI. Invoice will be posted to either Steven Pick or Stuart Basford on March 8th 2012.

Fixtures:

All fixtures except Youths are on the Club Website. These fixtures are also holding up the process for this season’s handbook.

Treasurers Report & Funding:

Stuart Basford has received a letter from David Church (one of our former players). Enclosed with the letter was a cheque for £10 for this year’s annual subscription. Stuart read the letter, David was glad to see some old photographs of teams he used to play in on the website and he relived some memories looking back at them.

Invoice and letter has been received from Tildernet about mobile netting. Stuart wanted to know if everything was OK with the netting, Paul Burns said Yes, so Stuart was going to process payment.

The Club's Insurance Cover has been transferred over to Peter Benson's company – this was passed at today's meeting.

Paul Burns has contacted the East Midland Community Fund.

Clubmark:

Mark Sampson asked if anybody had any issues with the Constitution that had been handed out at the last meeting – NO ISSUES WERE RAISED. These will be entered into the Club Handbook.

Steven Pick and Mark Priestley are waiting the arrival of their CRB's which were completed at Trent Bridge on 23rd February 2012. John Richardson needs to be CRB checked. Steve Pepper is sorting out his CRB. Once these CRB's have been issued, Kieran would like photocopies to keep in his records.

The Clubmark Evidence Folder is a work in progress and hopefully the Club will have its assessment at the end of the season.

Child Protection:

Kieran Clark has produced an updated Safeguarding Policy, which was handed out to every member of the committee (except those that were not in attendance).

Paul Burns is going to speak to Gurdev Singh.

Youth and Kwik Cricket:

Kwiks - Just 3 weeks into the indoor nets and the kwiks just keep coming in (19 children yesterday 26.2.2012) including 6/7 new players.

Youth – Progressing well, Nick Proverbs adapting well in his role as coach.

AOB:

Mark Sampson – Has received notification regarding Nat West Cricket Force 2012 – the idea is to get a number of volunteers to do repairs and odd jobs around the ground preparing it for the new season. It was suggested that Sunday 31st March 2012 be the day. In the paperwork received were various flyers for different companies that will give discounts and offers. One offer to be looked at was for Build Centre – it was stated that if the Club opens up an account with £100, Build Centre and ECCB will make it up to £500. This was agreed by the committee.

- Welcome Packs to be issued to every player, with Peter Benson's contact details inside stating that he is the Youth/Kwik Parent Rep on the committee and should their be any issues then to contact him.

- A full page advert in the handbook is to be £25.

Ray Smithson – On the Club website, if players are struggling to locate the ground, there is now a facility to find it.

- Peter Benson and Kieran Clark to become Team Administrators on the Youth and Kwik cricket set ups so they can add reports etc. to the system.

- Can the Club order Club caps without Thrumpton on them and put them on e-bay, because in 2012 the government are ordering a badger cull throughout the country, seeing the badger is the Club mascot, people might like a cap as a protest.

Mark Priestley – New kit/hoodies being ordered.

- Queens Diamond Jubilee – the club have been asked by the organisers if they can use the outfield in front of the pavilion for stalls, rides etc. Also if we can allow them to use electricity for the

sound system. I suggested that we open the kitchen and bar for drinks (hot and cold). The event date is Monday 4th June 2012 starting at approx 3pm and lasting for approx 3 hours.

Steve Pepper – No issues.

Peter Benson – Liaise with Mark Sampson on welcome packs.

Steve Weightman – Can we finalise a date for the E-on fixture.

Stuart Basford – Check through the paperwork for Build Centre, depending on location seems very good idea. Nearest Build Centre is in Loughborough.

Steven Pick – Just keep looking for any scorebooks.

Paul Burns – Thanks go to Ray Smithson for all the work with the static nets.

Next Meeting:

MONDAY 2ND APRIL 2012 AT THE SUN PUBLIC HOUSE GOTHAM – START TIME 7.30PM
