The travels of the Thrumpton Cap 2 of 26

2. Jan 10 One last look

Once again an anonymous email has arrived to the website from the escapee Thrumpton cap. The message reads:-

Hello again fellow caps........

Having made the break from "Burnsys Palace" I just couldn't head off into the big wide world without one last visit to "The home of cricket", even in the winter there are few finer places to spend an hour or two.

I pulled down my peak and let my imagination run wild, the sound of bat on ball, (or ball on stumps if Mark Priestley is playing), the excited screams of the kids on a Kwik Cricket night, the sound of a well known tea lady whispering away in the background.................. ah no finer place indeed.

Commiserations to the mobile net who is pleading to come with me. Full apologies to him, I do not travel by DTL.

I will miss this place while I'm away.

Anyway enough of being a sentimental young cap, I need to get to an airport, I need a truckers cab to give me a lift, maybe an Eddie Stobart driver................I hear there are a couple of people with too much time on their hands who follow such things!!

Well I'm away now and will keep in touch when I can.............."Up the Badgers"

This is a complete mystery to the club. Committee members believe that with a flight involved, he is off to either Benidorm or night clubbing in Ibiza
