A general meeting was held in the village hall on Friday 17th November 1978 in the presence of 15 members. Mr G Seymour took the chair. Apologies were received from Mr G Shaw, Mr N Shaw, Mr J Smith, Mr S Pepper and Mr R Smith

The minutes of the last meeting were read and were signed by the Chairman to be a correct record.

Thr Treasurer Mr S Shaw read out the accounts and it was shown that the club had a total of £124 pounds and 77p in the account.

The Officials for the 1979 season were elected as follows.

The Vice Presidents were voted en bloc.

The captains were then elected for the 1979 season as follows

The committee was re elected as the previous year with the addition of Mr A Footitt

The Umpires were then elected Mr J Smith Mr E Chettle Mr S Shaw Mr A Pepper

A vote of confidence was made to the Umpires by Mr R Pick

It was recorded that Mr Vaulkard had kindly given the sum of £100 to the club for use of improving the toilet facilities at the cricket ground and these improvements were to be discussed later.

It was agreed that the annual dinner would again be held at Mapperley Banquetting suite on March 9th 1979.

It was proposed by Mr I Adkin that it should be recorded in the minutes that in the match played at Warslow on August 5th 1978 Ron Priestley took 10 wickets for 35 runs, the second time it had happened in the clubs history.

Mr S Shaw was made a honorary life member of the club after being associated with it for the past 60 years.

The averages were then read as above.

The meeting then closed with a vote of thanks for Mr G Seymour for taking the chair, for agreeing to continue as President of the club, and for all the help and interest taken in club activities over the past year.

A battling 45 not out from R Pick ensured that Thrumpton stayed at the top of Nottingham Evening League Division 4 after they had looked doomed against Rutland.

Facing a Rutland score of 79-7 Thrumpton lost half of their side for 18 and victory looked out of the question, but Pick who had earlier taken 3 wickets for 13 had different ideas and his swashbuckling approach took Thrumpton to a 3 wicket victory

Thrumpton are in line for the title. Once again 2 more wins by Thrumpton has kept them on course to land the Nottingham Evening League Division 4 title.

They breezed to a 7 wicket win against Erronzed and a 48 run triumph at Parliament Street Meths expense. Shaw snatched 4 of the Erronzeds wickets for 16 runs as they were reduced to 79 for 7 wickets.

Pick demonstrated his all round talents against Parliament Street striking 49 not outtowards Thrumptons total of 130 for 5. In reply Parliament Street Meths scored 82 for 6.
